My Tech Stack at the Start of 2025
I'm writing this post to quickly list the tools that I'm using to build my one-man software business. Occasionally throughout the year I want review this list and it see what new things I'm using, or what I've removed.
If a tool helps me make money, gives me greater autonomy, or reduces my stress I'll use it. If not, I'll delete it from my stack. I think it is wise to continually try to optimize my stack for my goals. Stagnation is the killer of dreams and businesses.
Here is my beginning-of-year-2025 stack in no particular order:
Languages: Swift, JavaScript, PHP, HTML/CSS
Server: Digital Ocean VPS - I built my own Virtual Private Server and maintain the droplets (I enjoy this new skillset immensely)
Database: Firebase (iOS), SQLite (web)
Revenue Handling/Optimization: RevenueCat, Superwall, Stripe
Web Analytics: Fathom
Contact Capture: Kit
Intelligence: ChatGPT Plus, Claude
Environments: Terminal, Xcode, Visual Studio Code
Graphics/Images: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
Blog/Writing: Ghost, Scrivener
Now back to coding. Money won't make itself.
